Gemini Observatory employs software developers and scientists at both the Northern (Hilo, Hawaii) and Southern (La Serena, Chile) facilities who create and maintain nearly all of the software used by the Observatory. This includes the publicly available Observing Tool, Phase I Tool, Gemini IRAF package, and GMMPS, as well as many internal applications like the Queue Planning Tool (QPT), the Telescope Control Console (TCC), the Laser Target Tracking System (LTTS), Data Handling System (DHS), Instrument Configuration Tracking Database (ICTD), and many others.
This blog will provide updates and announcements on future changes to Gemini software. You are welcome to follow along to hear about what is happening, and get sneak previews before public release. We also welcome feedback and suggestions for improvements, although please use the official Help Desk for bug reports.
