This month, the 3rd cycle of 22B, we received 18 valid proposals and accepted 12: 4 for GS, 7 for GN, and 1 split between sites. Students were notably highly involved in this past cycle. 9 proposals were thesis related, and 7 of those were accepted! Additionally, we had 7 student reviewers (5 of whom were awarded time).
Proposals for the next cycle are due Sep 30, 12:00 (NOON) HST. Please note this change from earlier semesters. Successful proposals will be active for the period November – January 2023. Make sure to check the detailed 22B instrument schedules http://www.gemini.edu/observing/schedules-and-queue. Note that F2 MOS proposals are accepted for this coming round. Please see the CfP for more information.
Due to a several partners reducing their FT allocations, the hours awarded each month are slightly fewer than the previous ~20 hrs per month per telescope. For 22B, we expect to award up to ~15 hrs at GS and ~18 hrs at GN each month.
Please remember that the dual anonymous review process (DARP) rules are now enforced. Proposals must use the correct FT DARP templates. Any using a different template will be rejected at the start of the cycle. Furthermore, any proposals that are not sufficiently anonymized will be sent to the directorate for review.
