This month we received 19 valid proposals and accepted 10 – 4 for GN and 6 for GS. We received an additional 4 proposals for instruments that were not offered during this call and were therefore rejected from the start. Please remember to check the current Call for Proposals to see what is offered each month before putting in the work to write your proposal!! If it is not clear if your preferred instrument/mode is available, please contact the Fast Turnaround team to check, as noted in the CfP.
Proposals for the next cycle are due Apr 30, 12:00 (NOON) HST. Please note this change from previous semesters. Successful proposals will be active for the period Jun – Aug. Please check the detailed 22A instrument schedules http://www.gemini.edu/observing/schedules-and-queue for this period. Note that the schedule for 22B (August) is not available yet. However, Gemini South will be in an engineering shutdown August 1-25, and GMOS-S will be removed from the telescope around mid-July ahead of the shutdown. Check with the FT team if you have any questions about instrument availability for Gemini North in August. Also, please note that we are not offering F2 in MOS mode in the current CfP. We expect to offer F2 MOS every other FT cycle.
As a reminder, Dual anonymous review process (DARP) rules are now enforced. Proposals must use the correct FT DARP templates. Any using a different template will be rejected at the start of the cycle. Furthermore, any proposals that are not sufficiently anonymized will be sent to the directorate for review.
